Gulab Devi Hospital, established in 1928 by a prominent political leader in memory of his mother, has transformed from a modest 28-bed facility into a massive 1500-bed specialized chest and cardiac center. As the largest institution of its kind in Pakistan, it serves as a critical hub for treating complex respiratory and heart ailments. Recognizing the need to bridge the gap between nursing and medical staff, the hospital pioneered the training of Allied Health Professionals in 2007. Today, the Gulab Devi Postgraduate Medical Institute (GPMI) stands as a beacon of medical excellence, integrating clinical care with intensive research to develop indigenous management guidelines for various diseases.

Excellence in Medical Research and Accreditation

The institute is fully accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for FCPS training in Cardiology and Pulmonology, and is recognized by the Royal College of Physicians in England for MRCP training. Through its affiliation with the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, GPMI offers a diverse range of programs from diplomas to five-year professional degrees like the Doctor of Physiotherapy.
