Pakistan's Pioneer Urdu-Medium Federal University

The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology (FUUAST) holds the unique distinction of being Pakistan's first university dedicated to using Urdu as the primary medium of instruction. Established on November 13, 2002, via a Presidential Ordinance, the university carries forward the legacy of Baba-e-Urdu Dr. Abdul Haq, who founded the Federal Urdu Science College in 1949. While its principal seat is located in Islamabad, the university operates three major campuses: the Abdul Haq and Gulshan campuses in Karachi, and a dedicated campus in Islamabad. Today, it serves over 12,000 students supported by a dedicated faculty of 450 members, bridging the gap between national linguistic identity and international academic standards.
